About Us

Golden Bear Recycling, serving you since 1996. We specialize in processed and unprocessed scrap metals and offer a full range of recycling services within Southern California and the Western United States. Our expertise lies in dismantling, transporting and processing oversized industrial machinery and equipment for scrap. Material is brought to our Santa Ana facility where it is prepared for shipment and directly exported overseas to be recycled and reused.

Background

Robert Barkhordar, owner and founder of Golden Bear earned a bachelors degree from the University of California at Berkeley and graduated from Seattle University School of Law. Robert’s commitment to our environmental future through the conservation of resources materialized while he was a student at Cal. During this time he furthered his knowledge and fascination with the reclamation industry by actively studying and repeatedly visiting numerous recycling facilities. This set the framework that would later propel Robert to begin his own recycling company.
